Glass Float Bath Elements

Since 1990 Electroheat Materials Ltd., in conjunction with a previous subsidiary has been directly involved in the engineering, testing and sales of three-phase, multi-leg elements.

Electroheat Materials Ltd. have directed the sales of over 8000 standard W type elements in normal float glass bath applications in England, France, Germany and Spain. These meet the stringent specifications of high quality, low ageing/oxidation characteristics with a guaranteed 12 year life campaign for such installations.

Type W elements are also available for use in specialised glass production, where higher temperatures and aggressive atmospheres are common, using coatings/glazes.

The SGR element, operating within a Silicon Carbide tube, has recently been introduced in the float glass bath industry. The unit is mounted in the side walls of the glass tank, that is, horizontal above the glass. The nominal rated power of such an assembly is approximately 18kW.
